REMEMBER BILL MCCOLLUM?

Bill McCollum, the former Republican congressman from Longwood who ran two losing campaigns for the U.S. Senate in 2000 and 2004, could be back in the political field. The Buzz notes that he is reportedly considering seeking the Attorney General's job.

McCollum is presently a partner in the Orlando-based law firm of Baker & Hostetler in it's business group practicing in the federal policy area.

If he chooses to run, McCollum would make the fourth Republican in the race: State Representatives Joe Negron of Stuart and Everett Rice of Treasure Island, and State Senator Burt Saunders of Naples have all filed papers. There are no Democrats who have filed to this point.

CORRECTION: Thanks to Stacy who corrected me on the fact that Bill McCollum is a Republican, not a Democrat. Sorry...that's what happens when the mind is in reverse between 5:30 and 6:50 AM, which is when I normally post. Of course, being a loyal and lifetime moderate Democrat, it was not my intention to disparage my own party in that manner.
