QE II DOESN'T REGOGNIZE GUITAR SUPERSTARS AT RECEPTION

Queen Elizabeth II celebrated Music Day with a series of events Tuesday at Buckingham Palace, including a reception to honour the British music industry. However, she didn't recognize or wasn't briefed of several of the biggest guitar gods of the industry when she came across them in the reception line.

According to the story from Sky News, she asked Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, and Brian May, "And what do you do?"

May, the Queen guitarist, had to remind Her Majesty that he played the National Anthem --- "God Save The Queen" --- on the Buckingham Palace roof two years ago to start the Golden Jubilee rock concert in honour of QE II's 50th anniversary as monarch.

"Oh! That was you was it?", she exclaimed.

Moving on to Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page, the Queen inquired: "Are you a guitarist too?"
Guitar god Eric Clapton took no chances and, firmly shaking the Queen's hand, introduced himself by name.

"Have you been playing a long time?" the Queen asked.

"It must be 45 years now," replied Clapton, 59.

There was a severe no-no in the area of royal protocal when former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell arrived 40 minutes late to the reception, well after the doors to the hall had been closed. Ms. Halliwell swept in, making no apology to the doorman for her tardiness.

At these events, protocal requires that the Queen is to be the last person entering the room.

Also present for the engagement were former Who frontman Roger Daltry, Robert Plant, Dame Shirley Bassey, and Charlotte Church.

Speaking of Ms. Church, she reportedly landed a hard right to the face of her former boyfriend in a restaurant. According to one of the Brit tabloids, the former beau, who is unemployed, spilled the beans about their sexual relationship and how they "did the nasty" in virtually every room of her residence.
