Those of us who live in Florida --- or, for that matter, anywhere along the Gulf or Atlantic coasts --- realize that there is a price for enjoying being near the water. That is the threat of hurricanes and tropical storms this time every year. Even as many people across Central Florida are still recovering from Hurricane Charley three weeks later, we are now waiting for Frances which is expected to show her ugly force Saturday or early Sunday.

The National Hurricane Centre had first expected landfall farther north, but now are predicting most likely landfall around Vero Beach...but that track could change again, as Charley proved at the last minute. Anyone along the Florida coast should be prepared and evacuate if ordered/suggested.

Especially wishing well to fellow blogger Dave at spacecoastweb: blog in Orange County. He noted yesterday that he still has debris waiting for pickup from the previous storm. Hope they don't become missles. Keep save Dave, and everyone else in the path.
