FOLEY SAYS HE WILL SEEK TREATMENT FOR ALCOHOLISM

NBC News reported this morning that former congressman Mark Foley, who has not been seen publicly since resigning from the House of Representatives Friday, will be entering rehab for what he said in a statement is a "strong belief" that he is an alcoholic.

The FBI is investigating the inappropriate and, in some cases, sexually explicit e-mails and AOL instant messages to determine if any laws were broken. Meanwhile, House Speaker J. Dennis Hastert (R - IL) has written federal Attorney General Alberto Gonzales and Florida Governor Jeb Bush to request that the Department of Justice and Florida Department of Law Enforcement, respectively, investigate Foley's conduct.

This won't be over for awhile.

On last night's CBS Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson (an admitted alcoholic), he said, "It isn't the alcohol talking, it's the alcoholic".
Methinks EX Congressman Foley is using the rehab to cover up his sins, and his colleagues in the Congress are supporting this view AND intimating that the whole pedophile thing is because Foley is, GASP, gay.

It's been used that way for decades, and by politicos on both sides of the aisle. Foley's attorney now says the former congressman is gay (surprise!) and that he was molested as a child by a clergyman.
